Is GigaCrete currently selling its PlasterMax products?
GigaCrete anticipates commercially launching the manufacture and sale of PlasterMax, PlasterMax-IND, PlasterMax-ICF Base Coat, and PlasterMax-ICF Finish Coat in April 2008. The company is taking orders for its PlasterMax family of finishing products and targeting early-adopter customers.
How can I buy GigaCrete products?

How can I get my local building materials distributor to carry GigaCrete’s products?
We’re interested in getting to know the best distributors of interior wall coating products. How will we know who the best distributors are? We hope that their plasterer customers will recommend them to us. If you have a local distributor that you’ve worked with for years and want to recommend them to GigaCrete, we thank you in advance for your recommendation.
What performance tests have been conducted on GigaCrete’s PlasterMax products?
GigaCrete has conducted many performance tests on its PlasterMax family of products. Intertek, one of the leading independent building materials testing companies in North America, and Air Quality Sciences have conducted all testing to ASTM and building code standards. Based on successful test results, PlasterMax, PlasterMax-IND, PlasterMax-ICF Base Coat, and PlasterMax-ICF Finish Coat will be listed products with Intertek under the SpecDirect national product directory and labeled with the Warnock Hersey Mark, North America’s most recognized product safety and performance mark for building products. In addition, PlasterMax will be a listed product with the GreenGuard Environmental Institute based on the product’s low VOC-emissions. PlasterMax products have been tested for compliance with the following:
- EPA, State of California, and CHPS (Collaborative for High Performance Schools) standards for VOC emissions and indoor air quality
- ASTM C587 Standard Specification for Gypsum Veneer Plaster
- ASTM E84 Test Method for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials
- ASTM E136 Standard Test Method for Behavior of Materials in a Vertical Tube Furnace at 750°C (test method for noncombustible building materials)
- ASTM D4977 Surface Abrasion
- ASTM D5420 Test Method for Impact Resistance (Gardner Impact Test)
Do GigaCrete products require nationwide ICC building code approvals?
While GigaCrete’s products do not require ICC building code approvals to be approved by local building officials and implemented in the field, the company is seeking ICC (International Code Council) review and approval for its StuccoMax and PanelSystem products. GigaCrete and accredited third party testing labs have conducted several ASTM performance tests with impressive results and the company is confident it will obtain ICC approval for its StuccoMax and PanelSystem products.
Do GigaCrete’s products contain Portland cement?
No. There is no Portland cement in any of GigaCrete’s products. The company’s building materials are manufactured with mineral-based cements that offer performance and environmental advantages.
Are GigaCrete’s products cost competitive with other building materials?
Yes, all of GigaCrete’s products are cost competitive when compared with material, labor, and performance values of other conventional building materials. In many cases, when material and labor costs are analyzed, GigaCrete’s products are cost leaders.
Do GigaCrete’s PlasterMax products have both residential and commercial applications?
Yes, GigaCrete’s PlasterMax products have single family residential, multi-family residential, commercial, industrial, government, and military applications.
Is PlasterMax mixed and applied with conventional tools and equipment like plaster/stucco sprayers and hand trowels?
Yes, PlasterMax products are applied with the same tools and in the same manner as conventional plaster products.
Can PlasterMax products be applied in a variety of textures?
Yes, these products can be applied and finished in many textures - ranging from smooth, sanded, or heavier textured finishes.
Do PlasterMax products come in colors?
PlasterMax does not come in premanufactured colored versions. These products are a light beige natural color. However, professional installers can integrate liquid pigments to color these products.
When will GigaCrete be selling commercial quantities of the GigaCrete PanelSystem?
The Company estimates commencing limited production of the GigaCrete PanelSystem in late 2008. Our goal is to have early demonstration projects of the PanelSystem completed and ready for select viewing by the end of 2008. Please check back with us for updated product launch information.
Can GigaCrete be used for other things like roads, sidewalks, bridges, and foundations?
GigaCrete manufactures finished building materials. The company will not be marketing or selling its products for “infrastructure” applications typical to the ready-mix concrete industry. Rather than compete in these markets, GigaCrete products are complementary to these “ready-mix” applications — offering finished building material options from the “foundation up.”
Can only specialized people such as contractors and trade specialists use GigaCrete products?
GigaCrete’s products can be applied by contractors and those in the trades with suitable application skills. The best results should be expected from professionals and trained product installers.
